Mr. Mtamandeni Judah Mtambalika

Research Areas

I am passionate about exploring indigenous knowledge in ceramics practices, contemporary design within commercial ceramics, and innovative approaches to raw materials in ceramics. I enjoy pushing boundaries in these areas. Additionally, my interests extend to the sculptural aspects of artistic innovations, drawing inspiration from art history and academic discourses.,

Profile

Mtamandeni Judah Mtambalika earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Malawi in 2008, and subsequently pursued and obtained an MA in Ceramic Design from the University of Staffordshire in the UK in 2013. Noteworthy contributions during his tenure, include active contributions to Culturindaba, Sula, and C10 Summit in 2018 while working as a ceramics lecturer at the University of Malawi. He has also been involved in the development of an art syllabus for Domasi College of Education, moderation of sample examination papers for the Malawi Examination Board (MANEB) for New Secondary School Curricular, and Visual Arts Association formal training. While pursuing his MA studies at Staffordshire University in the period from 2011 to 2013, Mtamandeni participated in art exhibitions at New Designers London, and at Wedgwood Stoke-on-Trent in the United Kingdom.
